Teach me, SAVE THE DATE!

Venice, Septemper 24, 25 and 26

Promoted by the University Iuav of Venice - Faculty of Arts & Design and the Fondazione Claudio Buziol, conceive as a Visual Comunication Festival, party and creativity lab, Teach Me consists of three intense days of workshops and conferences in which students experience the connection between didactical and work fields, job and research, working side by side with internationally acclaimed professionals and teachers: a unique chance whose results gain and attention every year.

With its approach, intentionally multidisciplinary and transversal, “Teach me” is a place to experiment new ways of learning and comparing. Arrived at the fifth edition – after former “Teach me. Festival della grafica italiana” (2004), “Teach me. Stories” (2005), "Teach me. Comunicare l'oggetto." (2006) and “Teach me, some music” (2007), Teach me is proposing to push the limits between visual communication and fields around it (product design, theatre, art,…), to tempt virtuous trespassing, to identify the unique soul that connects and bonds various disciplines.

To explore this field of intervention together with the best operators of the sector, presenting conferences, meetings, laboratories, shows,… following the leitmotiv of video making, is the purpose of Teach me 5. During three days of the workshops (September, 24-25 and 26), suggestions from the designers that work in the field of video-making, like Mike Mills, Miranda July, PES, AgoPanini will interchange with the students' enthusiasm.

This year's edition will also see the establishment of the first Fast Forward Prize. The Fondazione Claudio Buziol will on the occasion award Le Fresnoy (Fra), represented by its Director Alain Fleischer.

The admission to the Festival is free. Italian or foreign students, freelancers, professionals in the field and any other curious persons of every age can attend to the conferences.

THERE IS NO ROAD - (The Road Is Made By Walking) - LABoral

THERE IS NO ROAD (The Road is Made by Walking) is a contemporary arts exhibition featuring moving-image and other works by twelve international artists, approximately half of which will be new commissions that will be shown for the first time at LABoral, Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial. Taking its cue from the famous lines of the poet Antonio Machado, THERE IS NO ROAD consists of a range of artists’ projects that record or evoke a series of actual or imaginary journeys, either through the local landscape of Asturias, or through a comparably remote and mountainous terrain. 12.12.2008 – 16.03.2009
